I am a career prosecutor, community member, and youth advocate with the experience and judicial temperament needed to serve as Judge.

Born and raised in Fresno County, I am proud to come from a family deeply rooted in service. As part of our family-owned business, Sterling & Smith Funeral Home, I expanded my knowledge on how to serve in the community. 

​

I graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School and Fresno City College, where I earned an Associate of Arts degree. I earned my bachelor’s degree from CSU Long Beach and I went on to receive my Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law in 1985. I am now a Senior Deputy District Attorney with the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, where I have served for nearly three decades.

From 2017 to 2020, I had the honor of serving as a Judge Pro Tem in Fresno County Superior Court. That experience provided firsthand insight into judicial decision-making and effective courtroom management.

Beyond the courtroom, I have remained actively involved in the community—serving as a board member and past president of the Fresno County Office of Education Foundation, as well as on several local boards focused on supporting youth. I am also a licensed California real estate broker.

My career, my community involvement, and my dedication to my family have shaped the values I bring to public service. I am committed to upholding the law with fairness, integrity, and respect for every individual who enters the courtroom.
